Description
Antique sterling silver and jade compote or goblet, made in the United States by Gorham c. 1870-75. The bowl is made of finely etched sterling, decorated all around with orchids and flowers. The stem and pedestal are made of finely carved jade and are bolted together with a screw. The piece has a Japanese motif and the sterling shows slight signs of guilding. Hallmark: Maker's marks, Sterling, A4580. Approximate Size: 4 3/8" H x 4 3/4" diameter measured on top. Approximate Weight: 5.4 troy oz. total including all components
