Description

Antique Middle Eastern heavy brass scribe's long brush holder and attached ink box pot, made in the Ottoman Empire, we believe c. 1820-50. The piece's ink box has a shell door that swings open and the top has a small door that swings open with a latch device as well. The piece is engraved with floral and leaf decoration and stars. It is a primitive, early construction. Approximate Size: 9 3/4" L x 1 3/4" W at widest point. Hallmark: No mark detected.

Condition

Good antique condition with age appropriate surface wear and scratches consistent with age and usage.
