Lot of two Chinese export antique boxes including a green enamel and metal hinged lid table or cigarette box with wood interior; and a coordinating match case box, both made in China, believed to be c. 1890-1905. The pieces are decorated with a nature scene of fish, lily flowers and a bird. They each stand on four small geometric square feet on their corners, with the match box's feet blue in color. The pair was probably part of someone's cigarette set. Approximate Size: Larger box: 5" L x 3 3/8" W x 1 1/4" H. Smaller box: 2 3/8" L x 1" W x little over an inch tall. Hallmarks: China on bottom of larger box, match box unmarked.

There's some mostly minor denting to the metal, more significantly to the interior edge of the larger box, that doesn't show unless the piece is opened. There's some minor wear to the wood interior and the number 8 written inside (looks like pencil). Otherwise overall very good antique condition with normal surface wear and tarnish consistent with age and usage. (Note: The larger box does not have a latch to lock it shut - it appears to be made that way.)
