Description
Two hand-painted German porcelain urn / vases converted to lamps. Dresden, late 19th century. The covered urns have four different hand-painted courting couple scenes and panels of flowers, divided by a gilt decorated motif of scrolls and florals. Mounted on painted wood bases. Each measuring 34" high to the top of finials. The urns measure 13" and the painted wood bases measure 4" high x 9" in diameter. The lamps appear to be the work of Helena Wolfsohn, Dresden. Two clean linen shades are included. NOTE: repair to one finial, see photo. NOTE: originally purchased in 1941 from David Seidenberg Antiques, New York (original receipt included).
