Lindbergh writes in this letter to Captain Joseph W. Sullivan from the ‘U.S. New York Sandy Hook Pilots' Association’, whome he thanks for an article.
‘... thank you very much for your kindness in sending me the cover from the ‚Bremen‘...’.
In Germany, the ‘Bremen’ was the aircraft in which Ehrenfried Günther Freiherr von Hühnefeld and the pilot Hermann Koehl as well as James Fitzmaurice in 1928 requested the crossing of the Atlantic in the opposite direction. After a 36 hour flight from Ireland to Newfoundland, the ‘Bremen’ was badly damaged in the forced landing.

Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr. was born 1902 in Detroit. On 20/21 May 1927 he managed the first non-stop solo flight over the Atlantic from New York to Paris. This success made him one of the most famous people in the aviation. He also received the Medal of Honor.
