āā¦Thank you so much for your very kind letters. How nice of you to remember my birthday!
I recall with great pleasure your visit in Stockholm, when I met you and Stern, not to mention the nice hours I spent in your charming home with your family.
There is next to no chance for me to come to the States, but I hope that we can meet somewhere in Europeā¦ā

Enclosed is an autographed letter by physicist Otto Robert Frisch to Isaak Rabi. Frisch asked Rabi to send birthday greeting to Lise Meitner. The single sheet is written on the front page and has a printed header. It was written on October 23th in 1953.
āā¦Lise Meitner will be 75 on Nov 7th. Each letter from a colleague will help dispel the feeling that she is old and forgotten. A letter from the Am. Phys. Soc. would give her special pleasure (if it is no too late now for that). / Perhaps you could tell other people who you feel might wish to write her ā¦ I have also written to F. Bloch and Weisskopfā¦ā
