Description
An Egyptian bi-color faience ushabti, 3rd Intermediate Period, 21st Dynasty, c.1075 - 945 BC, the green glaze now a brownish-orange, with black on the wig and traces on the facial details, broad collar and vertical column of text. Attractive style and a very pleasing example! H: 4 ÂĽ in (10.8cm). Intact, light deposits. Ex property from the collection of Joseph Klein (1899-1987), New York City. Mr. Klein sought out and acquired these souvenirs as part of his vast collecting interests. Said to have collected in the manner of an 18th century connoisseur, his overall collection showcased his diverse array of artifacts acquired over a period of 45 years and included the art of ancient China, Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome.
