Description
An antique gold ring with a choice Egyptian steatite scarab. The scarab dates from the Ramesside period, c. 1303 - 1075 BC, with an amuletic cartouche of the great pharaoh Thutmose III, and retains its original deep green glaze. The scarab is set in an antique 14k (stamped) gold ring with detailed leaves around the base of the scarab, a gold size adjuster still in place. Scarab: 19 x 13mm, Ring: 3 x 2.3 cm. Ring size about 6 but adjusted for just over 5. Small chip on base of scarab. A lovely wearable piece of jewelry. Ex Suffolk, England private collection.
