DICKENS CHARLES: (1812-1870) English Novelist. A fine D.S., Charles Dickens (a good, bold blue ink example with paraph), being a signed cheque, London, 9th September 1861. The partially printed cheque, completed entirely by Dickens, is drawn on Messrs. Coutts & Compy., and made payable to H. M. S. Britannia for the sum of £10.0.0, and crossed by Dickens with two diagonal lines in his hand. A bank cancellation only very lightly touches the signature. Matted in black and framed and glazed to an overall size of 12 x 8. One very small file hole, not affecting the text or signature, and some light, minor age wear, VG
