Description
An Orson Welles-Received Letter from Peter Bogdanovich, 1962. One page, typed on personalized stationery, dated "January 26, 1962," reading in part "Dear Mr. Welles, / ...I have directed for the stage here in New York and my / primary ambition (I am twenty-two) is to make movies only a / fraction as good as yours. I look forward with great impatience / to seeing your film of Don Quixote;" signed in black ballpoint ink in the lower right corner by the future Academy Award-nominated director -- an interesting early letter from one of Welles' many acolytes who went on to become a success himself; included with a letter from Beatrice Welles indicating she consigned this lot directly to Heritage Auctions. (Please note this letter is somewhat wrinkled and dirtied due to age.)
