Description
This is an original tightly beaded knife scabbard handmade by a Teton Sioux Native American Indian. The scabbard and knife are from the 19th century circa 1860-1890. The piece show all early 1800's glass trade beadshaving typical Sioux geometric designs with a rare pictorial Buffalo across the top. The scabbard is done on Indian Brain Tanned Buffalo Hide with a red like dyed coloring. The piece is beaded with trade cotton andsinew. The lot comes with a handmade knife with a rawhide handle. The scabbard and knife together measures 16" long. The beaded scabbard is 12" long. This comes in a black box with a glass top: measures 8"x14.5" and1.75" thick.
