Vintage Dobson Victor Professional Open-Back 5-String Banjo, c. 1890,mahogany neck w/ebony inlay extending from back of peghead, likely slate pot w/black enamel, pot stick carries inlaid "Victor" and is impressed w/"Geo. C. Dobson 294 Shawmut Ave. Boston, Mass", "Professional" and "Trademark Victor Pat'd Mar,4, 1884", peg head inlaid w/abalone star, fingerboard has abalone inlays on 5 positions and a second inlaid star at the base, tension ring has fancy geometric register, banjo retains original tailpiece stamped "Geo C. Dobson Boston Victor"; small crack and scroll hole on ebony backing to peghead, missing two brackets, modern Weather King head painted w/floral designs, considerable play wear on fingerboard, normal playing/age wear otherwise, playable, but could stand setup, good condition.
