Description
Mid-Showa Period, circa 1950's. Japanese mythology claims that the first emperor of Japan was 'Jimmu', who, according to Shinto belief, was a direct descendant of the sun goddess, Amaterasu. This is a 'Boy's Day' doll, many times given as a gift to a family with a newborn son. This Jimmu has real hair and glass eyes. He carries his falcon on his staff. Approximately 15 ½ in. tall. Condition: Some arrows broken and missing and quiver has been broken and is missing a section. Some minor cracks to fingers. Does not have a bow. For larger pictures, please see our web site.
