High-quality piece of work from the Regency period
This Regency sterling silver teapot was made in Dublin in 1818 by Samuel Beere & James Moore. The front shows a floral reserve with an engraved unicorn. On the other side the reserve shows the monogram ‘SLS’. The silver box is decorated with encircling bands of flowers and foliage along the the upper and lower edge. The hinged lid is crowned by a bone and silver knob.
The tea caddy is hallmarked with duty mark, sterling standard, Dublin city mark, maker’s mark ‘SBIM’ and date letter ‘X’ (1818) on the underside.
The teapot is in good condition with minor signs of wear. It measures 17.5 cm in height, the weight is approx. 722 grams.
