Description
Two Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimono. The first modelled as a sarumawashi or monkey-trainer, the monkey perched upon his left shoulder, 5.75", (14.5cm) high, the second a labourer, 4.75", (12cm) high, (S/D), (2).
Condition
1. Dark cracking. losses to rope. Loss to edge of basket. Reattached at ankles. 2. Sectional - head is loose, both arms, legs and base are all separate. Item in right hand is depleted. Light age cracking.
