A Meissen model of a pug dog and her pup the smaller recumbent under the outstretched forepaw of the other with head turned over left shoulder, naturalistically painted in shades of sepia and cinder each with characteristically large and expressive eyes. Crossed swords mark in blue under glaze and twice underscored, incised, "1169". Provenance: The Estate of Mrs. W. A. Criswell, Dallas, Texas. 8.5"H, Circa - Second half 19th C.
