A pair of Meissen porcelain pug dog figures each peering over its shoulder, the face naturalistically painted with white fur enhanced with brown to the face and paws, a powder blue ribbon with gold bells around the neck after a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Both with crossed swords mark in blue under glaze. One impressed "K622" and "78745;" the other incised, "78747," impressed "957," over glaze, "48." Provenance: The Estate of Mrs. W. A. Criswell, Dallas, Texas. 5.5"H, Circa - 19th C.
