A Meissen model of a Bolognese hound dog naturalistically modeled after a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler, its thick fur in dove gray with accents to the back, ears and face in nutmeg brown, the figure sits on its haunches with an expression of anticipation. Crossed swords mark in blue on unglazed bottom, impressed, "58", incised, "1263 27." Provenance: The Estate of Mrs. W. A. Criswell, Dallas, Texas. 10.25"H, Circa - Second half 19th C.
