Original Washington Crossing The Delaware Engraving by Paul Girardet After Painting by Emanuel Leutze. Published in 1853 by Goupil & Co. Copyright M. Knoedler. Note the "22" in pencil within the Goupil & Co raised seal - possibly referring to the 22nd impression produced? The reverse is mounted with rough sawn pine boards which appear to be undisturbed. The print shows overall browning and some foxing. The gilt gesso over wood frame has a ripple type design and remains in good original finish (minor losses to gesso). Sight size 24 1/4"h x 39"w.
