Similar lot. (June 15, 1959) This striking cover features these two intrepid space explorers after their historic ride in space, an important part of the pre-manned Mercury Program. There is a large article in the issue describing the heroic effort made by doctors to save Able after she died during a surgical procedure to remove a flight electrode from her body. Excellent condition.
