Description
A nineteenth century Japanese Imari bowl. Imari is a term for porcelain from the town of Arita, Japan, popularized by an insatiable western market since the 17th century. Typical of many Imari ceramics, this bowl has a patchwork-like design and a floral motif. Japan, mid-1800s; unmarked. Dimensions: approx. 8-3/4" diam; 3-1/4" H.
Condition
In good condition; some wear to the interior of the bowl, consistent with age and use.
