**A SOUTH GERMAN MORION IN THE SPANISH FASHION, EARLY 17TH CENTURY
with an almond-shaped crown and a flat integral brim projecting to an obtuse point front and rear, the whole formed in two pieces joined medially by rivets and fitted at each side with a slender tapering one-piece cheek-piece (the left completely and the right partly detached) pierced in each case with three small auditory-holes, the base of the crown encircled by ten round-headed lining-rivets, the edge of the brim formed with a narrow inward turn, and the whole retaining its black-from-the-hammer finish 20 cm; 8 in high
