probably Northern Italian or German, 18th century, upper case with stepped frieze and marquetry-inlaid prospect door, opening to a paper-lined interior with two dovetailed drawers and flanked by eight burlwood drawers each set with a [pietra dura] tablet, lower case with two candle slides over inlaid lid opening to a fitted interior over six dovetailed drawers all with highly figured veneers, 72-1/2 x 40 x 22 in., good condition overall, [pietra dura] plaques with scattered cracks, prospect section with later lock and interior paper, scattered minor molding losses and repairs, upper drawers of lower case lacking pulls, feet probably replaced, other scattered minor repairs.
