a neoclassical wooden pylon covered with bullets and battlefield relics created by A.E. Brooks of PLACE (generally credited as the first big collector of these artifacts) about 1885, including bullets, belt and cartridge box plates, insignia, and other items, some used to spell out the names and dates of significant battles, including "Bull Run 1861," "Pea Ridge 1862," "Wilderness 1864," and "Atlanta 1864;"53 in. H., 20 in. square at base; together with a large round iron shell labelled "Vicksburg / Mississippi / 1863" to replace a similar original capital
Condition
A number of the original artifacts have been lost over the years, The shell at top is a replacement matching the one shown in the vintage photo.
