Raised bands, gilt design and lettering on the spine, marbled endpapers and pastedowns. With frontispiece illustration, several illustrated plates interspersed in text and errata page. A wonderful account of Clark's gold mining expedition into Colorado (Howe C-430: exceedingly rare, first book printed in Chicago on Pike's Peak region).
