D. F. Barry Cabinet Card of Crow, a Hunkpapa Sioux, with printed caption in negative and imprint for Barry's Bismarck, D.T. studio, verso. 1880s. Crow, also known as Pispisa Ho Waste, or Good Voice Prairie Dog, wears two stripped feathers in his hair. According to an interview with Elk, a Lakota elder, on Sept. 12,1922, Crow had been shot by two arrows which he pulled through without breaking them so he could wear eagle quills for each. Barry's printed catalog further notes that, "Crow gave the war whoop in the Custer Massacre," after which the Indians descended.
Very good.
