The three ladles comprising two soup ladles and one punch ladle, longest with shaped bright-cut bowl. Originally retailed by Tiffany & Co., New York, New York.
Accompanying this lot is a limited edition boxed catalogue portfolio of the 1999 Lauren Stanley Gallery exhibition: American Soup Ladles 1800-1900. The black presentation box holds the scholarly catalogue written by D. Albert Soeffing which discusses the history of the form and its makers in great depth, as well as including 8 "x 10" photographs of the 38 ladles in the exhibition.
