Description
J. M. Harper Chicago Illinois - Circa 1905 One of the true “Holy Grails” for still bank collectors. There are only three known examples of this bank. The Chicago Board of Trade was established in 1848 and is the worlds oldest futures and options exchange. The majority of the country’s commodity options have always been traded here. The bank depicts a Bull and Bear fighting over a bag of grain. This bank is very similar in design to the Two Kids bank that Harper designed at a later date. This bank was formally in Bert Whitings pioneering still bank collection. Material: Cast Iron Provenance: Bert Whiting; Andy & Susan Moore Collections Reference: Penny Bank Book Pg12 Text
