A rare and fine gilt copper figure of Amitayus Buddha, 16th century , Tibet, approximately 17cm high Seated in dhyanasana atop a double lotus base, with hands cradling the amrita jar in his lap; clad in a long foliate incised dhoti with shoulders and arms flanked by a long, looping scarf, and wearing beaded jewellery and pronounced triangular necklace, its pointed form echoed in two extensions that fall from each of his ornate disk earrings as well as in his armbands and lid of the kalasha vase that contains his nectar of immortality; his long hair falling across his shoulders and pulled into a high, finial-capped chignon and secured with a tendril-like, five-pointed crown that rests upon a row of delicately rendered curls; his serene, meditative face framed at either side by two billowing streamers 西è— åå…Â世纪 é“œéŽé‡‘长寿佛
