![]() The Rolling Stones - very rare early unreleased acetate recording, 1964 A two-sided acetate recording on the Regent Sound Ltd. label, cut at 4 Denmark Street London. One side's label is typed with the title You're Coming Back To Me, but has no artist name upon it. This track is a version of the track "Tell Me", the finalised song that emerged giving The Rolling Stones their first hit in the America Top 40. This acetate recording is a sloppy version of Tell Me with wailing background vocals, much different to the released version. The alternate side, has a typed title "Give Me Your Hand", an even rarer recording. This track was written as a tribute to I Wanna Hold Your Hand by The Beatles. As far as were aware this is a totally unreleased track and is undocumented. This would have been a one off acetate recording for the Rolling Stones to listen back to the recording to see if they were happy with it. It was the first Jagger/Richards written composition. The historic importance of this single cannot be stressed enough - Jagger and Richards go to the famous Denmark Street to cut a record in the hope that someone would be interested in their first written song - the rest is history.
