Nominated for the Academy Award for best song in a film for 1944, "The Trolley Song" became one of the staples of the Judy Garland song book. The effervescent Judy as Esther Smith singing on the Trolley has become one of the stars iconic moments. A highlight of the ABC Television presentation LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND: ME AND MY SHADOWS was the brilliant "Technicolor" recreation of the filming of this scene.

The costume originally designed by Irene Schariff has been painstakingly recreated by John David Ridge.

There are several pieces to this complete costume.

The undergarment is a double layer crinoline petticoat with three tiers of taffeta on each, trimmed with crocheted cotton. There are hook and eye closures. It is labeled "John David Ridge, Ms. Judy Davis."

Next is a blue/green checked silk kilt style pleated long skirt, also featuring the John David Ridge label.

The green velvet short jacket is fully line. It has hook and eye closures with fabric covered buttons down the front. The shoulders are padded. It is decorated with green soutache on shoulder plackets, at elbow cuffs, pocket plackets, along bottom edge and at each button closure. There are sewn in white sleeves trimmed with white crochet. It features a white collar with crochet trim. It also features the John David Ridge label.

Accessories to the costume are: A white tie trimmed with white crochet; pair of baby blue satin gloves; Four gold clip on ear-rings used as hair ornaments; one pair of silk covered Peter Fox shoes decorated with bows, size 8 ½; White crochet style shawl with leaf motif trimmed in lace.

Condition: All pieces are in excellent condition.
