Charles Partridge Adams (Pasadena, California, 1858-1942) 7" h x 5" w watercolor. Titled "Pikes Peak in Autumn from Near Manitou, Colorado". Title penciled on back. Signed lower left "Chas. Partridge Adams". For health reasons Charles Partridge Adams moved to Denver, Colorado in 1876. He received his art training from Helen Chain, a former pupil of George Inness. In 1890, he exhibited for the first time at the National Academy of Design. In 1905, Adams built a home and studio in Estes Park, where he spent his summers. In 1920, Adams moved to California, where he opened a studio first in Pasadena and later in Laguna Beach. Adams was best known for his Colorado landscapes. He exhibited throughout the United States and his works can be found in museums throughout. Listed in Davenports, Dawdy, Fieldings, Hughes Mallet, Moure, Samuels, Who's Who, etc. Fine condition. EST. $1500. - $2500.
