Braun, Adolphe: Flower sudies

Flower studies. Circa 1854/1856. 2 albumen prints with rounded corners. 22,5 x 26 cm and 23 x 28 cm.
Originally a textile designer, Adolphe Braun turned to photography in 1853 to supply artists with studies of floral motifs. He managed to create a successful photographic enterprise and his floral studies were highly acclaimed by contemporary critics for their accurate and delicate rendition of botanical subjects. - Some spots in negatives, one with a few spots on print, slightly faded, especially towards edges, otherwise in very good condition.
