An early six-part panoramic view of Budapest, seen from Gellért Hill. 1870s. 6 albumen prints hinged together with linen tape as a panorama. Each circa 19 x 28 cm, entire size 19 x 167 cm, bound between two green canvas covers with gilt-stamped title BUDAPEST.
This rare panoramic view shows the Hungarian capital near the time the separate cities Buda andPest were joined together as one community (1872). The famous landmark of Budapest, the House of Parliament at the bank of the Danube river, was built ten years later. - Slightly faded and slight foxing in sky area, otherwise in very good condition.
