Unknown photographer (German). Single portraits of a husband and wife. Early 1850s. 2 sixth-plate daguerreotypes, with paper surrounds in contemporary brass (?) frames, each mounted in a glazed wood case with an additional decorative gilt frame inside.
Two very unusual and ornately framed daguerreotypes from a Potsdam estate. - One frame (wife) detached from the back mount, black tape along the borders of the cases applied later, daguerreotypes with slight oxidation along edges, otherwise very clear images without surface abrasions.
