Private German album with views of English and Scottish towns and landscapes, mostly by James Valentine (1815-1880) and George Washington Wilson (1823-1893). Circa 1880 and earlier. 78 albumen prints. Different sizes between circa 12 x 19 cm and 15 x 25 cm. Most titled, numbered and monogrammed in lower edge in the negative, flush-mounted to thin album boards and some annotated in ink below images on boards, bound in black leather album (edges slightly rubbed) with gilt-stamped cover Erinnerungen an ENGLAND mit SCHOTTLAND 1883-85.
An interesting collection with early views of Leeds, York, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey and Castle, Manchester, Liverpool, Durham, Edinburgh, Dunbarton Castle, Glasgow, Scarborough, Haddon Hall, Windsor Castle, London and many more. - Some faded, most strong prints in very good condition.
