(Al colophon): Stampati nuouamente in Venetia: per li heredi di Lucantonio Giunta, 1545 In-4° (mm 216x152). Carte 238. Marca tipografica in cornice figurata incisa in legno al frontespizio. Esemplare in ottimo stato di conservazione, qualche lieve fioritura. Legatura settecentesca in pergamena; dorso riccamente decorato da ferri dorati con titolo in oro e data di stampa su tassello dipinto di nero; tagli azzurri. Timbro ottocentesco al frontespizio. Seconda rara edizione del rifacimento di Francesco Berni dell’Orlando Innamorato che, come dichiara il frontespizio, è la vera seconda edizione “poiché le edizioni apparentemente diverse di Venezia 1541 e Milano 1542 si rivelano in verità una unica edizione in 2 emissioni. Il testo è in ogni rispetto identico, salvo le inevitabili varianti di stampa, alla edizione precedente, con eccezione di L.I. l-82, che sostituiscono le prime 80 ottave dell’edizione del 1541-2. A tale sostituzione segue la famosa denuncia (A6r) di un raffazzonamento alle spese del Berni; manca invece alla fine qualunque avvertimento a proposito dell’identico lavoro condotto sugli ultimi due canti. I Giunta erano però al corrente, poiché lo studio bibliografico dimostra che non solo il primo, ma anche gli ultimi due quaderni, vennero stampati in un momento diverso, certamente posteriore, alla realizzazione dei quaderni B-2E” (N.
