An Amazon "shrunken head"c. 1950, probably made for the tourist trade during their surge in popularity. This head is nicely formed with typical style. Long, flowing black hair, mouth sown shut, squared brow, flaring nostrils, and a rope coming from the top of the head for hanging, H: 4 2/3 in (11.8cm). Ex Philadelphia private estate.
