Condition/Details: Bound in their original or period calfskin boards with raised bands and gilt embossing, this antique set is a scarce biographical compilation. Bielfeld was "secretary of legation to the king of Prussia; preceptor to Prince Ferndinand; chancellor of the Universitys [sic] in the dominions of his Prussian Majesty, F. R. A. B. &c.; author of Political Institutes." This work contains the "original anecdotes of the Prussian court for the last twenty years." . The volumes show some external age/wear, and are intact with clear spine repairs, both books have bright pages. The books measure approximately 4.25" x 6.75" and contain 239 + 234 pages.
