Author: Erasmus Warren
Publisher: B. Aylmer and W. Rogers
Printing Year: 1698
Condition/Details: Bound modern ¾ leather calfskin and marbled paper-covered boards with raised bands and gilt embossing, this early Christian text is a very scarce find in any printing – at the time of this writing, we were unable to locate any copies for sale. The title continues, "or an earnest invitation to religious mourning in general: with a large declaration of the divine comforts, and the blessed effects which attend the performance of it. But more particularly to Mourning in Private, for our own personal iniquities, and the publick crying Sins of the Nation. To which are added, forms of devotion fitted to that pious exercise." The half-title page is present. This is a handsome book, showing only light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with new endpapers and prelims, there is some page edge wear concentrated on the bottom edges. The book measures approximately 4.75" x 7.5" and contains 338 pages, followed by a 4-page table of contents and errata list. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
