There are very few albums that can compare with Michael Jackson's Thriller in terms of either cultural impact or cold, hard numbers. It was Thriller that established Michael once and for all as the "King of Pop." The former child star and lead singer of the Jackson 5 became not only a solo star but one of the biggest acts in music and a worldwide icon. Thriller would sell over twenty-seven million records, making it for many years the best-selling album ever, (eclipsed ultimately by the Eagles' Greatest Hits compilation). Staying on the charts for over two years, Thriller became one of the defining albums of the decade of the 80s, as much a part of its era as the Rubik's Cube or Ronald Reagan. This front and back printer's proof for the album cover includes wax pencil notes for minute detail changes to be made, such as "Spread Type, " written in reference to the credit for producer Quincy Jones. The proof is mounted on a white background and framed in black. Proof is in very good condition. Frame: 13 x 27 1/2
