Description
A very unique stained glass window of the "Flying Tigers". The stained glass depicts the nose of a WWII flying plane, the Curtiss-Wright P40. The motif is a classic example of the armorial design that has come to symbolize air combat of the period. The Flying Tigers, formally known as the American Volunteer Group, were mercenaries, a cadre of 100 pilots and ther support personnel. A supporting newspaper article written in 1996 gives in depth historial data on the Flying Tigers. This is a wonderful piece of WWII memorabilia, very, very rare to find! This would make a great gift for any father, or any Veteran or collector of WWII memorbilia. Measures approx. 30" wide x 30" high. This item can be picked up in Torrington, CT. Appointment time will be scheduled after auction date.
