GRASS DANCE COLLAR. Dance Collars were widely used over much of the Central Northern Plains. First associated with the Grass Dance, collars such as this became cherished over a large region. This one is attributed to the Sioux. Otter (?) with paint on reverse of hide, shaped tail. Mirror attachments, red and yellow quilled strips with feather tin cone tassels. Ex Dennis Giglievo, Paris. 36"l.
