Infantry Soldier, Pre-Civil War 1/6 plate

There's a gilded insignia on his hat, with something above it that is somewhat obscured by the gilding. A later pencil note suggests he was a member of the Massachussets National Guard, but that is not certain. It is a rich clear undamaged plate in a half case. Plus a 1/6 plate daguerreotype of this same man, with his wife on their wedding day. That one has some wipes: it's included just because it came with the other image. The first is the main feature. It's [4]. SORRY A GREMLIN MADE THE ORIGINAL TITLE TURN HIM INTO ARTILLARY!!
