She is seated with a pile of folded rags, umbrella, shawl around her head. The face is distorted, mask-like, and it isn't clear if this is indeed a mask (doesn't appear so) or if the wide cheekbones are a disfiguration. Also the patch over the eye is ambiguous. A striking and fascinating CDV-size TINTYPE. [3]
