5 large format stereoviews Mauch Chunk, PA

This was a major railroad center near the coal-mining region, and site of the famous planes for hoisting heavy coal cars. 3 are by G. F. Gates, Watkins NY. A similar one is credited to James Zelmer, and one has no imprint. One is a fine view of the town with hoisting machinery in foreground; the other shows the inclined tracks. An additional large yellow mount view of Mansion House is by M. A. Kleckner. All but one have printed lists of titles on verso. 3 have soil and foxing [2-], [2], and two are cleaner [3].
