Rare Colonial French Canada Playing Card Dated 1700

c. 1700, Issued French Canada Playing Card Receipt, Choice Very Fine.
This rare French Regime colony in Canada, original Playing Card is dated 1700 & 1702. It is written in French: “compte de la ville et communauté de Briancon de 1700 No 176 en recette le ??? 1702”; TRANSLATION: “Account for the Briancon city and communauté 1700 No 176 for receipt the ??? 1702”. A clean example of the use of early Playing Cards in lieu of receipts, script and formal money in early Colonial Era French Canada. Rarely encountered.
