An Antique Italian Terracotta Architectural or Garden Frieze, c. 1900, bearing the stamp of La Manifattura di Signa, Florence, Italy (1897-1901), and numbered “1514-C”, in the Antique manner with a scene of dancing bacchantes executed in high relief, minor loss at lower right corner, height 30 in., width 70 in., depth 3 3/4 in Note: Known for fine work derived from Antique, Renaissance, and Medieval sources, the Manifattura di Signa firm specialized in garden ornaments in the forms of urns, vases and sarcophagi This frieze was found in the garden of a New York City townhouse.
