Description
A turn of the century to Art Deco Opal Ring, with wonderful patchy, flashfire, with blue, green, and orange as the main colors. The opal cabochon is surrounded by Old Mine Cut Diamonds, set into a wonderful detailed 14K Yellow Gold Ring. This ring has been appraised by Ouellet & Lynch, an independent third party appraiser, for $1800, and comes with a written insurance replacement value appraisal. Craig Lynch is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and a Certified Insurance Appraiser for Jewelry.
Condition
The opal dimensions are estimated at 6.55 by 6.56 mm, depth 3.4 mm, for an estimated carat weight of 0.85 (over three quarter carat). There are no fractures in the opal, but does have light crazing on the underside. As for the Old Mine Cut Diamonds, there are thirteen of them, ranging from 0.02 to 0.04 carat each, for an estimated diamond weight of 0.36 carat. The clarity on the diamonds ranges from SI-I1 and color is estimated at H-I. Ring Size: US 6, British M, French 52. Stamped: None Acid Test: 14K Gold. Date: 1900-1930's. Weight: 3.0 grams or 1.9 dwt
