Description
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, Ca 652 to 300 BCE. Blue faience ushabti - servant to the dead in the afterlife - standing with arms to his chest holding crook and flail, incised band of hieroglyphs down the front. 3-7/8" H (not counting stand).
Provenance: Ex-Nick Poolos collection. Mr. Poolos ran Adeon Gallery in Chicago in the 1970's.
